| Sweetwater Watershed |
|
| Great Circle’s Mike Harding help design and conduct the erosion and sedimentation portion of the Sweetwater Watershed Science Day. The program was designed to encourage high school-aged students to pursue careers in the earth sciences as well as acquaint them with environmental impacts affecting the watershed in which they lived.
Mike designed a portable rainfall simulator which was used to demonstrate the effects of rain on various soil and vegetative cover types found within the Sweetwater watershed. Staff from URS Greiner/Woodward-Clyde, including Carol Forrest, P.E., Krista Barch and Dr. Aziz Aboaziz demonstrated different analytical methods for evaluating sedimentation and water quality impacts resulting from soil erosion. |
