| Every fall, San Diego State University opens the doors of its science departments to the public. Children from kindergarten through high school are invited to visit various on-campus facilities such as the planetarium, telescope, electron microscope and numerous lectures and displays on practical science and opportunities for study. For the first time, in 1999, the public got to see the new Soil Erosion Research Laboratory (SERL) located in the Industrial Technology building. Operations Manager Mike Harding and SDSU students working at the lab demonstrated the function of the tilting soil test bed, rainfall simulators, and the current soil erosion research being conducted at the laboratory. |
