| Each year, Mike Harding, CPESC is asked to conduct classroom and field training for staff engineers and field technicians for various state departments of transportation. The training usually involves a day in the classroom and a day in the field demonstrating alternative erosion and sediment control practices.
The courses, coordinated through the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) are custom-designed to meet each department’s specific needs. Local contractors and suppliers are encouraged to participate so that everyone involved in future roadside re-vegetation and erosion control activities will have a common understanding of the problems and solutions from both a design and implementation perspective.
