Hawaii Wedelia
Propagation
See slideshow
Gilbert Araki, of Pacific Agricultural has pioneered some unique applications for tackified mulch and bonded fiber matrix in conjunction with vegetative propagation techniques. Depending on the client's need and the site conditions, Gilbert can generally achieve 100% ground cover with the combination of live plant material held together by a hydraulic matrix.

Live stems of wedelia, a common vegetative cover in the Hawaiian Islands, are harvested from roadside sources, redistributed on the surface of bare soils and held in place with a topical application of wood fiber mulch with tackifier, or in the case of extreme slopes with the use of a bonded fiber matrix.

Borrowing on Gilbert's successful efforts in Hawaii, where appropriate, Chuck and Mike have promoted this type of vegetative propagation technique throughout the Pacific Rim.
